About Merve Kahraman
Merve Kahraman is a London-based Turkish artist whose work explores the delicate tension between abstraction and the human figure. Her journey into art began long before it was ever formal. As a child, she was always drawn to crafts, painting, and the quiet joy of creating with her hands. But it wasn’t until the age of thirteen—when an art teacher recognized her innate talent—that she began formal training and discovered a lifelong calling.
Since moving to London in 2021, Merve has been working from her studio, where she
continues to develop a distinctive voice through printmaking and mixed media on canvas. Her practice is deeply inspired by nature and existence, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on their own humanity—their value, their presence, and their connection to the world around them.
In addition to her physical works, Merve creates 1/1 NFTs and limited-edition digital
paintings, blending traditional and contemporary techniques to expand the reach of her visual language. She also shares her passion for creativity through regular workshops, fostering dialogue and hands-on engagement within the community.
Merve holds a Master’s degree from Dokuz Eylul University’s Education Science Institute,
completed in 2022, as well as a BFA with a concentration in Printmaking. Her work was featured at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair in 2024, marking a milestone in her growing international presence.
